Our Beliefs

Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teaching. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.

Our History

The Wesleyan Church of Fairfield is a part of the Illinois District of the Wesleyan Church. The congregation officially joined the Wesleyan denomination on December 7, 1997. Services were held in homes and at a community center during the early months, then in April 1998, the congregation moved to a newly purchased location on State Route 45, 1 mile north of Fairfield. The building on the property was finished just in time for Easter services that year.

By October 2006, the congregation had outgrown the facility. The adjoining property was purchased, and ground was broken for a 4000 sq. ft. addition. New construction was completed in August 2007 which included a larger sanctuary for 200, a nursery, restrooms, and a classroom. The original facility was remodeled to add classroom space and enlarge the fellowship hall.
